On Tuesday, the 29. January 2019, the European Society for Deformation Mechanisms, Rheology and Tectonics (DRT) was established on the initiative of Prof. Paul Bons (Universität Tübingen) and Jun. Prof. Ilka Weikusat (Alfred Wegener Institute). The goal is to make the organization and funding of the DRT conference easier and more effective in the coming years. All participants of the coming conference will become members of the society and will elect a new board of directors during an assembly. Until then, Prof. Paul Bons will serve as chairman of the DRT, Dr. Till Sachau will be its treasurer and MSc Tamara de Riese has the duties of the secretary of the society.

    Dear Paul and Team DRT-2019,
    I would like to inform you about my intention to candidate myself to became one of the board member of the new society “EUROPEAN SOCIETY FOR DEFORMATION MECHANISMS, RHEOLOGY AND TECTONICS” aiming hopefully to organize the next DRT meeting in Catania (Italy) for the 2021 year.
